But...I was wrong.
We're definitely having a baby GIRL!!!
I really love having sisters. And a part of me really wanted Molly to be able to experience that.
And another part of me wanted to have a son.....to feel like I had one of each again, like our family was complete and whole....and to break out all of Josiah's baby clothes and relive memories of his infancy through another baby.
That sounds really, really messed up.
This baby's purpose is not to fill the void that Josiah left. I'm glad God knows me, knows what my family needs, and knows how to make my family complete- not through having children, but through filling our family with more of Himself. I think that that's what I've been learning most throughout this journey of being a mom to the many children God has blessed me with.
Justin was absolutely adorable during the ultrasound. The minute the word "girl" was uttered, his smile bubbled over into an infectious giggle, and he couldn't stop giving me fist-pumps and high-fives throughout the scan every time the word "normal" was spoken (which was a lot.) When the ultrasound technician left the room, he leaned over to me and said, "Deep down, I was kind of hoping for another girl." I asked him why. "Because if this one is anything like Molly, then she is going to be awesome."
The way he was going to tell our students was by wearing pink or blue to school today. Here he is in his new threads.
Justin Benson, you are adorable. And an awesome daddy.
Next step....I'm finally ready to start thinking about the baby room. And now that I know I can totally start girl-ifying it, I'm making plans for a fun mural.

I am so beyond excited. I can't even handle it. I know that all kids are different, but the thought of Molly part 2 has me giddy. I love Justin's reaction. He's such a great daddy.
