Dreamy Getaway

In celebration of basketball season being over, Justin and I went on a much-needed getaway- just the two of us.  We traveled about an hour southwest to Kennett Square, PA to visit one of our favorite places.

Longwood Gardens is an over-thousand acre estate with indoor and outdoor gardens, trees, lakes, tree houses, gazebos, fountains, and greenhouses.  It is a magical place, and the perfect destination for a relaxing mini-vacation.  We had a wonderful time walking and talking and dreaming about how we were going to take the girls there one day.  And my sweet husband was so patient as I walked around capturing the splendor of the orchid display that was in the conservatory.

But don't feel too bad for him; as we were walking out, he made such a scene until I agreed to take this picture for him.

Yep, that's a Mennonite midget.

*sigh* I just love my husband.  Mostly because he didn't talk about basketball the entire weekend.  And he can always make me laugh with his fascination of little people.

So pretty! It's nice to know that somewhere in the world, there is spring and things that are growing. Those orchids are gorgeous! (And yes, I'm feeling much more like the bulbous one that you emailed me at this point.) And really...how can you see a Mennonite midget in a straw hat and consider not taking a picture? Come on, Megan...be reasonable.

I know, I'm so very unreasonable. I was just thankful for having a lens with the ability to zoom from a very far distance.
