Some thoughts on Good Friday

Before I break out the vinegar and dye,
Before I fill my girls' Easter baskets with treats,
Before I put on their pretty pink dresses with sparkly shoes,
Before I sit down to share Easter dinner with my family,
Before I celebrate a living Savior...

I stop to think of the dying Savior, who chose to suffer so we could all come to know His Father the way He does.

Today I am thankful, not that the tomb was empty, but that first it was filled.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Rom 5:8
